Hiring: Consultant-In-Training/Project Coodinator

Job Title:   Project Coordinator (Consultant-in-training). Part Time-20 hours/week.

Compensation:  $15.00-$20.00/hour depending on experience.

Location:  You will be working in-person with the founder in the Westwood or Westlake Village office, with flexibility to work remotely.

Job description:  Do you love products and finding the latest trends? Interested in a career as a merchandise buyer for the nation’s leading retailers? Want to one day launch your own product line?

We are looking for someone who loves to wear many hats, enjoys owning projects and is a self-starter.

Your title is Project Coordinator/Consultant-In-Training, but with a fun twist because it’s a role that’s much more exciting than clerical work (boo).  It involves learning, growing, and personal development, too. And we promote good people quickly!

You would be owning marketing projects, admin projects and assisting the founder with client management – in an entrepreneurial and start-up environment. Your projects will leverage your marketing creativity, organization, excellent writing skills, plus your eye for spotting new product trends. And as you learn and grow, we’ll have you lead client projects and create client-facing strategies that drive retail growth!

Who are ideal candidates?

  • Startup product-entrepreneurs seeking to supplement your income while you build your own business. Plus, take what you learn on the job and apply it to your business!
  • Moms who have opted out of the workforce to care for kids but are seeking to keep their skills fresh and build their resume.

You are a great fit if you excel at the following:

  • Writing & editing
  • Comfortable analyzing numbers and data
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Computer skills (ability in powerpoint, photoshop or indesign, wordpress, constant contact or similar)
  • Have a good eye for product trends
  • Aspire to have a career in product entrepreneurship or merchandise retail.
  • Have a positive attitude!

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience working in an office environment
  • Solid references

Your projects will include:

  • Marketing projects to increase awareness and list signups (Buyerly Catalog, Buyerly Boxes, Newsletter, Social Media, etc.) of Retail Path and Buyerly
  • Spot hot new product trends: Identify potential clients for Retail Path and Buyerly by spotting new product trends in the market.
  • You will assist the founder in crafting  the “retail story” for clients who are trying to sell their product lines to major retailers, with the goal of one day leading the creation of “retail stories”.  See client list.
  • General executive assistant duties
